Dr. Sammy Wanyonyi
Dr. Sammy Wanyonyi is a world evangelist. He is the Founder, President and Lead Communicator of Shine in the World Ministries (SHINE) based in Minneapolis, MN. Born in a small Western Kenya village, he met Jesus Christ at an early age. At eight years old, He experienced the power of the Holy Spirit and a subsequent call to global evangelism ministry.
After college years in Kenya, he felt led by the Holy Spirit to move to the United States to establish a global evangelism and leadership mission. He is a graduate of Bethel University and Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota from where he holds both the Doctorate in Global Leadership and the Master of Divinity degrees. Globally recognized, Sammy has been privileged to bring the message of hope through Jesus Christ to more than 1.2 million people over the last eight years in such places as India, Malaysia, Rwanda, South Africa, DR Congo, Israel, the Westbank, Malawi, Botswana, Kenya, and the United States among others. He has prayed with over a quarter of a million people in fifteen different nations to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is an inspirational speaker with the ability to relate and draw diverse audiences. Sammy speaks the language of today’s generation as he proclaims God’s truth from the Bible.
His message is biblical, fresh and practical making sense to his diverse audiences that have included governors, scholars, presidents of nations and of corporations, as well as masses of everyday people and students. From small informal gatherings to large stadiums, Sammy addresses the message of peace, love, and reconciliation with God, others, the self, and the environment through Jesus Christ. He sits on the Evangelism advisory committee of the Lausanne Movement, a global mobilizing movement founded by Billy Graham with the vision to bring the whole gospel, through the whole church, to the whole world. He serves as adjunct professor of evangelism and intercultural leadership at Crown College, St. Bonifacious, Minnesota, and as guest professor in numerous Universities and colleges around the world. Together with his wife Suzanne, they have two children Samuel (Jr. 4) and Shiloh (2). They make their home in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
